ABSTRACT A change-speed transmission has two pairs of aligned coaxial shafts that can be moved in an axial direction relative to each other by means of a control, and having on their ends that face each other clutch discs which can be coupled to each other in various combinations by means of a clutch body that can move freely and rotate between the two pairs of clutch discs. The first pair of coaxial shafts is formed from an extension (3) of the input shaft (1) that extends beyond the clutch body (2) and a hollow shaft (5) that sur- rounds this extension (3) concentrically. These two coaxial shafts (3, 5) are connected to each other in a predetermined transmission ratio in each instance, through a pinion (7, 6) and an idler shaft (8). The second pair of coaxial shafts is formed from two shafts (12, 13) that are arranged on the opposite side of the clutch body (2) and coaxial with the input shaft (1). Each of these shafts (12, 13) is coupled or can be coupled through a pinion (14, 15) to a pinion (16, 17) that is coupled or can be coupled to the output shaft (18) in a further fixed transmission ratio in each case.
