2089757 9203813 PCTABS00011 The changing-advertisement display disclosed has a carrier band which can be unrolled in a first direction from a first roller on to a second roller or in a second direction from the second roller on to the first roller. Advertisements are attached at pre-determined positions to the carrier band, the positions being indicated by means of marks which can be detected by a sensor to produce position signals for the movement of the carrier band. A specially controlled roller drive enables the carrier band to be moved at a constant speed between the rollers over it whole length in both directions and held taut at all times.
