Un module de sélection (J) reçoit un multiplex amont (M) et dévie sélectivement au moins un canal de ce multiplex vers un port d'extraction (C). Un organe de commutation (K) oriente ce canal et le dirige pendant certaines périodes vers un port d'insertion (D) pour le réinsérer dans un multiplex aval (N) incluant au moins un autre canal du multiplex amont. Selon l'invention un amplificateur (1) est disposé et a des valeurs de gain suffisantes pour faire croître une onde circulant pendant ces périodes selon une boucle fermée (C-E-F-D-C) incluant ces deux ports et cet organe. Cette onde permet d'équilibrer le multiplex aval. Application aux réseaux de télécommunication à fibres optiques.
