A channel estimation method which reduces the strain on resources of a RAKE receiver using a complex weight gain (CWG) algorithm. In one embodiment, a non- adaptive algorithm is used to average blocks of pilot symbols from several slots (320). In another embodiment, an adaptive algorithm implements sliding window averaging or a recursive filter. Using a CWG algorithm (325) reduces the memory and processor requirements of the RAKE receiver.

L'invention porte sur un procédé d'évaluation d'un canal réduisant les contraintes appliquées à un récepteur Rake et recourant à un algorithme de gain à pondérations complexes (CWG). Dans une exécution, on utilise un algorithme non adaptatif pour moyenner les blocs de symboles pilotes de plusieurs créneaux. Dans une autre exécution, on utilise un algorithme adaptatif effectuant le moyennage de fenêtres glissantes, ou un filtre récursif. L'utilisation d'un algorithme CWG permet de réduire les besoins en mémoire et en processeurs du récepteur Rake.
