A support system (1) for an elongated lighting system (20) is embedded in a mounting surface (50) or anchored on a mounting surface (50). The support system comprising an elongated U-shaped housing (2) having a pair of opposed arms (4, 5) and an intermediate base (3). The housing has a pair of spaced apart longitudinal grooves (6, 7) in a side-by-side arrangement in the intermediate base. Each of the grooves is adapted to accommodate a coated electrical conductor (22, 23). The housing has support members (8, 9, 10) disposed between the grooves and distal to each of the grooves. The support members are substantially coplanar. Each of said grooves is of a depth to fully accommodate the electrical conductor. The preferred mounting surface is a road or airport runway.

L'invention concerne un système (1) de support pour système (20) d'éclairage allongé, conçu pour être encastré dans une surface de montage ou fixé sur une surface (50) de montage. Ledit système de support comprend un logement (2) allongé en forme de U constitué de deux branches opposées (4, 5) et une base intermédiaire (3). Le logement présente deux rainures longitudinales (6, 7) espacées ménagées côte à côte dans la base intermédiaire. Chacune de ces rainures est conçue pour renfermer un conducteur électrique (22, 23) enrobé. Le logement comporte également des éléments de support (8, 9, 10) disposés entre les rainures, et distaux à chacune d'entre elles. Ces éléments de support sont sensiblement coplanaires. Chacune des rainures est suffisamment profonde pour renfermer complètement le conducteur électrique. La surface de montage préférée pour le système selon l'invention est une chaussée ou une piste d'aéroport.
