A compact dual-check poppet-style valve cartridge is provided. The valve cartridge is compact so as to be usable in a variety of applications. Compactness of the valve cartridge is achieved by having a poppet support of a first valve integral with a valve seat of a second valve, by having the poppet stems nesting, and by having other features nest within each other. The valve cartridge is also self-contained so as to facilitate handling thereof and reduce the time required to insert or remove the valve cartridge from a valve body. A check valve is also provided wherein the valve cartridge is retained in an inlet bore using an open-latticed cage. Both the check valve and cage are adapted so as to be insertable into a valve body in one direction only so as to avoid improper installation.

Le clapet de retenue et la cage sont tous deux conçus pour être insérables dans un corps de clapet dans un sens seulement, pour éviter qu'ils soient mal installés.
