ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A check valve for rock drill bits is disclosed of the kind comprising a drill body the top part of which has a bore and is arranged to be connected to a drill tube and the lower part of which comprises a number of legs extending from the drill body, the lower ends of said legs carrying rotatable cutters with cutting inserts. The valve substant- ially consists of a valve plate of sheet shape and a cylindrical strainer body centrally and coaxially united therewith, the valve plate being adapted to abut tightening against an annular shoulder in the bore of the drill body, an insertion being centrally and movable arranged in relation to the valve plate and the strainer body and carrying a sheet shaped lid which against a spring action is arranged to be subjected to action from the flushing medium when the valve is opened and to be urged against the mouth of the strainer body that faces away from the valve plate, axially covering and tightening said mouth.
