Chemical compounds and methods for removing dye from polyester fibers, in particular poly(ethylene terephthalate) ("PET") fibers, is disclosed. The compounds and methods are particularly useful for removing dye from panel fabric made from recycled PET fibers. The method involves contacting the PET with a dye removal compound in a sealable vessel. The contents of the vessel are agitated and heated to achieve an increase in pressure and temperature. Following a cooling down period, the PET is removed and rinsed with water. The dye removal compound includes an aqueous solution of at least one leveling agent.

La présente invention concerne des composés chimiques et des procédés permettant de supprimer la teinte de fibres de polyester, en particulier de fibres de poly(éthylène téréphtalate) (PET). Ces composés et ces procédés conviennent particulièrement pour supprimer la teinte de tissu pour panneau amovible fabriqués à partir de fibres de PET recyclées. Ce procédé consiste à mettre en contact le PET avec un composé supprimant la teinte dans une cuve qu'on peut sceller. Les contenus de cette cuve sont agités et chauffés de façon à obtenir une augmentation de température et de pression. Suite à une période de refroidissement, le PET est retiré et rincé avec de l'eau. Le composé supprimant la teinte comprend une solution aqueuse d'au moins un agent d'étalement.
