ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method Or preventing corrosion of the reactor in a chemical process in which a plurality Or reactants, at least one of which is non-corrosive, are reacted under conditions such as to from a corrosive mixture and an excess host which is removed by a heat exchanger contained in the reactor, the method consisting of introducing a non-corrosive reactant in the spacing between the header portion of the heat exchanger of the reactor and an inner partition contained therein and allowing said reactant to flow freely along the walls of the header subject to corrosive environment. An apparatus for carrying out the about method is also disclosed.
