ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for removing a deleterious component from a fluid stream is described in which the deleterious component is made to bypass a step in the process which is sensitive to the component. This is effected by first passing the stream through an adsorption zone containing a selective adsorbent from the deleterious component and recycling an effluent from the deleterious component-sensitive step as a purge for regeneration of the adsorbent bed.
