The present invention is an improved active filter material for use in removing target species such as NOx from a fluid stream. The filter of the present invention employs chemically active particles attached to a porous substrate by means of a polymer adhesive. A microporous layer is attached to at least one side of, or within, the porous substrate. The resulting filter material removes contaminates, such as dust, from the filter stream before the dust can clog active catalytic sites, as well as remove undesirable species by means of catalysis or reaction.

La présente invention porte sur un filtre actif amélioré destiné à être utilisé dans l'élimination d'une espèce cible telles que No¿x? dans un courant de fluide. Le filtre utilise des particules, ayant une action chimique, qui sont fixées à un substrat poreux au moyen d'un adhésif polymère. Une couche microporeuse est fixée sur un côté au moins du substrat poreux ou à l'intérieur de ce dernier. Le filtre obtenu élimine du courant de fluide les contaminants tels que la poussière avant que celle-ci ne puisse obstruer des sites catalytiques actifs, et élimine également les espèces indésirables par catalyse ou réaction chimique.
