This invention relates generally to the field of electrochemistry. In particular, the invention provides a method for assaying an analyte, using, inter alia, a reactant capable of binding and/or reacting with an analyte to be analyzed on an oxide electrode and a reducing agent not capable of being oxidized directly by said electrode to generate reduced electrochemically active molecule that participates in oxidation-reduction reactions repeatedly to generate an amplified electrochemical signal to determine presence and/or amount of said analyte in said sample.

L'invention se rapporte de manière générale au champ de l'électrochimie et plus particulièrement à un procédé d'analyse d'une substance à l'aide, entre autres, d'un réactif apte à se lier et/ou à réagir avec une substance à analyser sur une électrode d'oxyde et un agent réducteur non apte à être oxydé directement par ladite électrode afin de générer une molécule réduite électrochimiquement active participant aux réactions d'oxydation-réduction de manière répétée de telle sorte à générer un signal électrochimique amplifié déterminant la présence et/ou la quantité de ladite substance à analyser dans un échantillon.
