A toner for developing an electrostatic image comprising toner particles which include a binder resin, a wax and a colorant, wherein the wax has a melting point of between 50 and 150 ~C, the wax exists in the toner particles in domains of 2 ~m or less mean particle size and (a) the mean circularity of the toner particles as measured by a Flow Particle Image Analyser is at least 0.90; and (b) the shape factor, SF1, of the toner particles is at most 165. A process for the manufacture of said toner which comprises the following steps: providing a latex dispersion; providing a wax dispersion; providing a colorant dispersion; mixing the latex dispersion, wax dispersion and colorant dispersion; and causing the mixture to flocculate.
L'invention concerne un toner destiné au développement d'une image électrostatique, comportant des particules de toner contenant une résine de liant, une cire et un colorant. Ladite cire possède un point de fusion situé entre 50 et 150 ·C et est présente dans les particules dans des zones de granulométrie moyenne inférieure ou égale à 2 ?m. Selon l'invention, (a) la circularité moyenne des particules de toner mesurée à l'aide d'un analyseur d'images à flux de particules est d'au moins 0,90, et (b) le facteur de forme maximal (SF1) des particules de toner est 165. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication dudit toner consistant à mettre en oeuvre une dispersion de latex, une dispersion de cire, une dispersion de colorant, à mélanger ces dispersions, et à floculer le mélange.
