Rhere is provided a chewable medicinal tableting composition comprising as proportions of the total composition which will further comprise the medicinally active component, as first essential component: capric triglyceride: about 30 to about 95% by weight, and as second essential component: the medicinally active ingredient: up to 60 % by weight. Where the medicinally active ingrdient is less than about 30% by weight the composition further comprises as third essential component, a member of the group consisting of glyceryl monostearate, a mixture of glyceryl monostearate and glyceryl monopalmitate, and a mixture comprising at least about 40-50 % by weight of glyceryl monostearate, and glyceryl distearate: up to 10% by weight. Composition masticable pour la fabrication de tablettes médicinales comportant comme premier ingrédient essentiel (en proportion de la composition totale comportant la matière active médicinale) un triglycéride de l'acide caprique (environ 30 à environ 95 % en poids) et comme deuxième ingrédient essentiel, la matière active médicinale (jusqu'à 60 % en poids). Lorsque l'ingrédient actif médicinal représente moins d'environ 30 % en poids, la composition comporte en outre jusqu'à 10% en poids d'un troisième ingrédient essentiel, un membre d'un groupe constitué des composés suivants : monostéarate de glycéryle, mélange de monostéarate de glycéryle et de monopalmitate de glycéryle, et mélange comportant au moins environ 40-50 % en poids de monostéarate de glycéryle et de distéarate de glycéryle. On présente aussi des méthodes pour la fabrication de ces compositions.
