The means of preventing operation of the lever controlling opening of the burner valve consists of a sliding tappet, fitted under the bottom surface of the back end of the control lever, which shuttles between an active position, where an integral part of the lighter body is just beneath it and prevents motion of the control lever so as to open the valve, and a forward, "off" position in which the aforesaid integral part of the lighter body is no longer in its path when the control lever is operated so as to open the valve, so that this operation becomes possible. A means of keeping the tappet momentarily in the "off" position is provided so that the control lever can be operated, and other means are provided to bring it back into the active position, where it prevents such operation, immediately after such operation.
Les moyens de neutralisation du levier de commande de l'ouverture du brûleur-soupape sont constitués par un poussoir monté coulissant sous la face inférieure de l'extrémité postérieure du levier de commande et mobile entre une position active reculée dans laquelle une partie solidaire du corps du briquet est située juste au-dessous de lui, rendant impossible toute manoeuvre du levier de commande dans le sens de l'ouverture de la soupape, et une position avancée et effacée, dans laquelle la partie solidaire précitée du corps du briquet n'est plus sur la trajectoire décrite par le poussoir lors de la manoeuvre du levier de commande dans le sens de l'ouverture de la soupape, rendant cette manoeuvre possible, des moyens étant prévus pour assurer le maintien momentané du poussoir en position effacée, avant l'actionnement du levier de commande et d'autres moyens étant prévus pour assurer son retour en position active de neutralisation, aussitôt après cet actionnement.
