A child restraint apparatus having a base connectable a to a vehicle. The base has a chassis with a back portion and a seat portion. /A U-shaped guard is pivotally connected to the chassis so as to be movable between an up position and a down position, in the down position the guard forming a frontal and lateral barrier around the child. A seat member of appropriate size is detachably connected to the seat portion of the chassis. A harness assembly is connected to the seat member. The harness assembly comprises a retractor assembly connected to the seat member and a torso strap having a lower end fixed to the retractor and a pair of upper ends connectable to a helmet via a latch assembly connected to the helmet. The helmet is adjustably connected to the chassis and has a rigid shell shaped to extend about at least a portion the head of the child.
La présente invention concerne un siège enfant possédant une base connectable à un véhicule. Cette base possède un châssis avec une partie arrière et une partie siège. Un dispositif de protection en forme de U est connecté de manière pivotante au châssis de façon à pouvoir se déplacer entre une position haute et une position basse, en position basse ce dispositif de protection formant une barrière frontale et latérale autour de l'enfant. Un siège de taille adaptée est connecté de manière amovible à la partie siège du châssis. Un ensemble harnais est connecté au siège. Cet ensemble harnais comprend un ensemble dispositif de rétraction connecté au siège et une bride de torse possédant une extrémité inférieure fixée au dispositif de rétraction et une paire d'extrémités supérieures connectables à un casque via un ensemble verrou connecté à ce casque. Ce casque est connecté de manière réglable au châssis et possède une coque rigide mise en forme de façon à s'étendre autour d'au moins une partie de la tête de l'enfant.
