The child safety seat for an automobile comprises a seat body forming a backrest which is arcuately movable with respect to a base. A relative movement guiding mechanism, which is formed by combining an arcuately extending guide rail and a guide member moving along the guide rail, allows for movement of the seat body with respect to the base. A seat is rotatably mounted on the seat body and a coupling member engages a linear portion of the guide rail, thereby maintaining the seat in a substantially constant inclination regardless of movement of the seat body. Thus, the seat can remain in a substantially horizontal state when the angle of the backrest is adjusted, while the backrest may recline without interfering with the backrest of an original seat in the automobile upon which the child safety seat is mounted. Thus, the child is not forced into an uncomfortable position when the backrest of the child safety seat is reclined.

Cette invention concerne un siège de sécurité pour enfants comprenant une coquille formant un dossier mobile par rapport à un socle selon une trajectoire incurvée. Le dispositif de guidage de la coquille sur le socle se compose d'un rail incurvé et d'un coulisseau adapté pour glisser le long du rail. La coquille comporte un siège pivotant autour d'un axe horizontal et qui est maintenu à un angle d'inclinaison sensiblement constant peu importe la position de la coquille, grâce à un élément d'accouplement à la partie rectiligne du rail de guidage. Cet agencement permet de maintenir le siège sensiblement à l'horizontale lorsque l'angle d'inclinaison du dossier est modifié. Le dossier peut également être abaissé sans influence négative sur le dossier du siège d'automobile sur lequel l'objet de l'invention est placé. Ainsi, l'enfant n'est pas forcé à adopter une position inconfortable lorsque le dossier de son siège est abaissé.
