A cap device (60) for a flue opening of a chimney (62) to enhance draw of smoke and to protect from entry of animals, debris, and the elements, which device comprises: a tubular housing (64) having a plurality of planar sidewalls fabricated from flat sheet metal, a top (70) attached to said tubular housing; a plurality of louver openings (66) in a lower portion of said tubular housing to draw air, a plurality of exit openings (68) in the upper portion of said tubular housing above said louver openings (66), said tubular housing having an imperforated portion between said lower and upper portion; an inner frame and mounting assembly (72) attached to the lower edge of each sidewalls including anchoring and leveling means to anchor said inner frame and mounting assembly to said chimney and to level said device with respect to said chimney; and a liner (76) within said tubular housing to form at least one space between said liner and said tubular housing so that air is drawn through the louver openings (66), up through the said space between the liner (76) and the tubular housing (64) and of the exit openings (68) .
La présente invention concerne une coiffe (60) pour l'orifice d'évacuation d'une cheminée (62), destinée à améliorer l'extraction de la fumée et à fournir une protection contre l'entrée d'animaux, de débris et d'autres éléments dans la cheminée. La coiffe comprend: un boîtier tubulaire (64) comportant une pluralité de parois latérales planes constituées de tôle métallique plate, un sommet (70) fixé audit boîtier tubulaire; une pluralité d'ouvertures à lames (66) dans une partie inférieure dudit boîtier tubulaire pour aspirer de l'air; une pluralité d'ouvertures d'évacuation (68) dans la partie supérieure dudit boîtier tubulaire, au-dessus desdites ouvertures à lame (66), ledit boîtier tubulaire comportant une partie non perforée entre lesdites parties inférieure et supérieure; un ensemble interne d'armature et de montage (72) fixé au bord inférieur de chaque paroi latérale, comprenant des moyens d'ancrage et de nivellement pour ancrer lesdits ensemble de montage et d'armature à ladite cheminée et pour mettre ladite coiffe au niveau de ladite cheminée; et une chemise (76) à l'intérieur dudit boîtier tubulaire pour former au moins un espace entre ladite chemise et ledit boîtier tubulaire de manière à ce que l'air soit aspiré par les ouvertures à lames (66), qu'il monte par ledit espace situé entre la chemise (76) et le boîtier tubulaire (64) et qu'il sorte par les ouvertures d'évacuation (68).
