ABSTRACT A chimney cleaning device has a brush attatched to a cable. A motor is used to rotate a drum on which the cable is winded so that the brush is lowered into the chimney and pulled back out. The cleaning device is provided with a set of strategically positioned radial venting apertures for optimising the draught of the chimney. A built-in heat sensing device is incorporated to send a signal to a remote location if the temperature of the smoke reaching the device exceeds a predetermined level.
