-1- Abstract This invention relates to an extinguisher system for chimney fires that extinguishes the fire ansd set off concurrently an in-house alarm. The alarm may be linked up to a fire extinguisher on the roof or to a heat sensitive device inside the chimeny. The invention is particularly adapted to creosote chimney first where the main fuel is wood. This invention relates to an extinguisher system for chimney fires. Among the most hazardous of chimney fires are those resulting from a buildup of creosote that becomes ignited. Uncontrolled, the fire can burn up the flue to the top of the chimney. The cooperating parts of the invention are a roof mounted fire extinguisher in a protective housing, a supply line from the extinguisher up to the apex of the chimney, supported there, on a crosspiece. A depending portion of the supply line inside the chimney terminates in a heat-activated spray nozzle. When the system become operative, a battery operated in-house alarm is triggered concurrently. The triggering means may be the drop in pressure in the supply line or it may be a heat sensor inside the chimney. In further description of the invention reference is made to the accompanying drawing wherein, Figure 1 is a general layout of the system. As shown in Figure 1, fire extinguisher 1 is accessibly located on the roof.
