-23- CHINTZ FABRIC AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SAME Abstract of the Disclosure Chintz fabrics characterized by exhibiting a glossy smooth appearance and having enhanced hand, drapabi- lity and durability are produced by applying to the fabric a finishing composition comprising a silicone polymer and a catalyst, drying the impregnated fabric to a suitable moisture content without curing the finishing agent, and calendering the fabric with a heated calender roll to form a smooth glossy surface on the fabric while curing the finishing composition.
