Ferrocene anchored chiral ligands and metal complexes based on such chiral ligands useful in asymmetric catalysis are disclosed. The metal complexes according to the present invention are useful as catalysts in asymmetric reactions, such as, hydrogenation, hydride transfer, allylic alkylation, hydrosilylation, hydroboration, hydrovinylation, hydroformylation, olefin metathesis, hydrocarboxylation, isomerization, cyclopropanation, Diels-Alder reaction, Heck reaction, isomerization, Aldol reaction, Michael addition; epoxidation, kinetic resolution and [m+n] cycloaddition. The new ligands are effective for asymmetric Pd-catalyzed allylic alkylation reactions and Ag- catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of azomethine ylides.

L'invention concerne des ligands ferrocéniques chiraux et des complexes métalliques à base desdits ligands chiraux utiles dans une catalyse asymétrique. Les complexes métalliques de l'invention sont utilisés comme catalyseurs dans des réactions asymétriques, telles qu'hydrogénation, transfert hybride, alkylation allylique, hydrosilylation, hydroboration, hydrovinylation, hydroformylation, métathèse oléfinique, hydrocarboxylation, isomérisation, cyclopropanation, réaction de Diels-Alder, réaction de Heck, isomérisation, réaction d'Aldol, addition de Michael; époxydation, résolution cinétique et cycloaddition [m+n]. Ces nouveaux ligands sont efficaces dans des réactions d'alkylation allylique asymétriques catalysées par du palladium, et dans des réactions de cyclisation [3+2] d'azométhine ylides catalysées par de l'argent.
