A genus specific chlamydia oral or injectable vaccine is provided which comprises an anti-idiotype antibody capable of producing in an animal an anti-idiotypic antibody or Fab fragment thereof enclosed in microspheres formed of a pharmacologically acceptable polymer is capable of producing in an animal an anti-anti-iodotypic immune response (serum antibody, secretory antibody or T-cell responsee) which recognizes a glycolipid exoantigen (GLXA) of chlamydia. The oral or injectable vaccine is produced from an idiotypic antibody to GLXA which, in turn, is utilized to produce the anti-idiotypic antibody.

L'invention concerne un vaccin administré par voie orale ou par injection, qui est spécifique du gendre Chlamydia. Ce vaccin contient un anticorps anti-idiotype ou le fragment Fab de celui-ci enfermé dans des microsphères formées par un polymère acceptable sur le plan pharmacologique et il est capable de produire chez un animal une réponse immunitaire avec production d'un anticorps anti-anti-idiotype (anticorps sérique, anticorps sécrétoire ou réponse de lymphocytes T) qui reconnaît un exoantigène glycolipidique (GLXA) des Chlamydiae. Le vaccin administré par voie orale ou par injection est produit à partir d'un anticorps idiotype vis-à-vis du GLXA, qui, à son tour, est utilisé pour produire un anticorps anti-idiotype.
