ABSTRACT Peroxide vulcanizable chlorinated polyethylene compositions containing fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, curatives can, after being press-cured at a temperature of 204°C for a period of 10 minutes, withstand ozone-induced cracking for a period of 168 hours or more when elongated 60% and exposed to 200 parts of ozone per hundred million parts of air at a temperature of 40°C provided that the ratio of peroxide to coagent is from about 0.05 to about 0.4. This technology allows fast line-speeds suitable for use in the manufacture of hoses, tubing, molded goods, and wire and cable insulation/- jacket.
