ABSTRACT Chlorthalidone Dispersions Water-soluble dispersions of chlorthalidone are prepared by a process comprising: (a) forming a solution comprising a water soluble pharmaceutically acceptable polymeric carrier and a C1-C4 alkanol, (b) dissolving chlorthalidone in the solution, and (c) removing by evaporation the C1-C4 alkanol from the solution thus formed, said carrier being used in an amount effective to suppress substantially the reaction of chlorthalidone with the C1-C4 alkanol to form an alkyl ether by- product. A preferred water soluble carrier is polyvinylpyrrolindone and a preferred C1-C4 alkanol is methanol.
