The invention relates to a cholinesterase activator comprising, as an active ingredient, a compound represented by the following general formula (I): Image (I) wherein A means a group such as a phenyl group or indanyl group, B denotes a group such as a prolyl group or thioprolyl group, and m stands for an integer of 0-5. The cholinesterase activator according to the invention has a strongly activating action on cholinesterase, in particular, a selectively activating action on peripheral cholinesterase and is also high in safety. It is hence useful as an agent for preventing and treating the side effects of central cholinesterase inhibitors, in particular, hepatopathy, and an agent for preventing and treating the side effects of various medicines manifested on the basis of a cholinesterase- inhibiting action.

Un activateur de la cholinestérase contient un composé représenté par la formule générale (I). Dans ladite formule, A représente notamment un phényle, indanyle, B représente notamment un prolyle, thioprolyle, m représente un entier compris de 0 à 5. Ce composé qui fait preuve d'une capacité puissante d'activation de la cholinestérase, particulièrement sélective en périphérie de la cholinestérase, s'avère d'une grande sécurité. Ces caractéristiques en font un remède préventif et curatif utile contre les effets secondaires induits par les inhibiteurs de la cholinestérase centrale, et particulièrement contre ceux des effets secondaires induits par inhibition de la cholinestérase qui sont imputables aux remèdes préventifs et curatifs de l'hépatopathie et à divers autres médicaments.
