Chroman derivatives of the formula I (see formula I) have an action on the cardiovascular system. In formula I R1 is alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms and R2 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms or R1 and R2 together form an alkylene group of 3-6 carbon atoms. R3 is OH or OAc, wherein Ac is formyl or alkanoyl of 2-6 carbon atoms or amyl having 7-11 carbon atoms and R4 is H, or R3 and R4 together form a bond. R5 is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and R6 and R7 are hydrogen or a substituent, suitable substituents including hydroxy, alkoxy, alkyl, formyl and alkanoyl.
