1-15497/+ Chromogenic quinazolines Abstract of the Disclosure Chromogenic quinazolines of formula (1) Image wherein R is an aryl radical or a heterocyclic radical, Z1 is oxygen or sulfur, Z2 is oxygen, sulfur or -NR', R' is hydrogen, alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, cyano or lower alkoxy, or is cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, phenethyl or acyl, or -NRR' 18 a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical, Q is an aliphatic radical which may be interrupted by a further member Z2, Y is the radical of a couplable compound, and the ring A is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, cyano, nitro, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or lower alkoxycarbonyl. These quinazolines are exceedingly fast to sublimation and are particularly suitable colour formers in pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording materials and give strong and lightfast yellow and orange colourations.
