It is intended to provide a novel pigment protein originating in Cnidopus japonicus. Namely, a pigment protein originating in Cnidopus japonicus which has the following characteristics is provided: (1) having a maximum absorption wavelength of 559 nm and having a maximum fluorescence wavelength of 578 nm: (2) having a molar absorption coefficient at 559 nm of 61150; (3) having a quantum yield less than 0.01; and (4) the pH sensitivity of the absorption properties being stable at pH 4 to 10.

L'invention concerne une nouvelle protéine pigmentaire issue de Cnidopus japonicus. L'invention se rapporte en particulier à une protéine pigmentaire issue de Cnidopus japonicus, caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente : (1) une longueur d'onde d'absorption maximale de 559 nm et une longueur d'onde de fluorescence maximale de 578 nm ; (2) un coefficient d'absorption molaire à 559 nm égal à 61150 ; (3) un rendement quantique inférieur à 0,01 et ; (4) des propriétés d'absorption stables pour un pH compris entre 4 et 10.
