CIGARETTE MANUFACTURING MACHINE OF THE CONTINUOUS ROD TYPE ABSTRACT In a cigarette manufacturing machine of the continuous rod type, a rising stream of tobacco particles flows through a vertical duct and feeds a conveyor system, the purpose of which is to form from said stream a tobacco layer or filler and to feed it, in a discharge position, to the formation means for a continuous cigerette rod. The conveyor system comprises an air-permeable mobile belt which closes the outlet of said duct, and extends as far as said discharge position. During its formation and transfer, the tobacco filler is retained on the belt by suction means which act on that face of the belt opposite the one holding the filler, and which are divided into first suction means operating on that belt portion disposed at the duct outlet, and second suction means, independent of the first, operating on that belt portion between the duct and the discharge position.
