A wrapping paper for a cigarette, characterized in that it is prepared from a pulp containing a fibrous component in an amount of 60 wt % or more, in particular, a flax pulp. The wrapping paper for a cigarette can be used for reducing markedly the scattering property of a cigarette ash without increasing the amount of a filler accelerating burning or a burning aid.

L'invention concerne un papier cigarette caractérisé en ce qu'il est préparé à partir d'une pâte renfermant un composant fibreux à raison d'un pourcentage supérieur ou égal à 60 % en poids, notamment une pâte de lin. Ledit papier cigarette peut être utilisé pour réduire, de manière conséquente, la propriété de diffusion de cendres d'une cigarette, sans augmenter la quantité de tabac de remplissage accélérant la combustion ou d'un agent d'aide à la combustion.
