A circuit (Figs. 2A-2D) and method of providing an auto-on and/or auto-off capability for an audio device, of a type having an audio plug (14) which mates with the output jack of an audio source. The portable transmitter (10) modulates audio signals from the audio source onto a carrier and transmits them to a receiver. The auto-on and auto-off capability is provided to prolong battery life and degradation of the transmitter circuit and comprises pinching off a FET (Q2) when the circuit is in an ~off~ state. This occurs when a pre- determined threshold in a capacitor (C29) is reached by not discharging that capacitor. The capacitor (C29) is discharged by dropping a comparator input below a pre-determined threshold limit when presented with an audio peak and wherein the drop in value causes the comparator output to go low, causing the capacitor to discharge and causing the FET (Q2) to supply power to the regulator.
L'invention concerne un circuit et un procédé fournissant une capacité d'arrêt automatique et/ou d'enclenchement automatique à un dispositif audio du type comportant un branchement audio adapté à la prise de sortie d'une source sonore. L'émetteur portatif module des signaux sonores provenant de la source sonore sur un support, et les transmet à un récepteur. La capacité d'arrêt automatique et d'enclenchement automatique augmente la durée de vie de la batterie et limite la dégradation du circuit d'émission, et consiste à placer en tension de pincement un TEC lorsque le circuit est à l'état d'arrêt. C'est le cas lorsqu'un seuil préétabli est atteint dans une capacité sans décharger cette dernière. La capacité se décharge consécutivement à la chute de l'entrée d'un comparateur en-deça d'un seuil préétabli, lorque la capacité est en présence d'une crête basse fréquence, auquel cas cette valeur inférieure entraîne le ralentissement du comparateur, ce qui provoque le déchargement du comparateur et amène le TEC à alimenter en énergie le régulateur.
