ABSTRACT The output of a load, e.g. an incandescent lamp, connec- ted to an A.C. power source is maintained constant for varying supply voltages by decreasing the duration of current pulses con- ducted by a transistor as the supply voltage rises. The transis- tor is connected in series with the load and is controlled by an operational amplifier. One input of the operational amplifier is fed with a rectified unsmoothed A.C. voltage derived from the supply voltage and the other input is fed with a voltage which is the sum of a D.C. voltage held constant by a zener diode and a superposed rectified and smoothed voltage varying with the supply voltage.
