A circuit arrangement is described for demodulating a useful signal (17), which is amplitude-modulated on a carrier oscillation, by means of an amplifier arrangement (1) comprising an operational amplifier (7) which has at least two input stages (55 to 58) which can be optionally switched actively by means of switching signals (at 65) and/or is connected to at least two input, output and feedback networks (13, 14, 33, 34, 36) which can be optionally switched actively by means of the switching signals in such a way that the amplifier arrangement (1) has at least two gains (V) which are differently predeterminable by the active operation of the individual input stages (55 to 58) and networks (13, 14, 33, 34, 36), respectively, and which operational amplifier further has an output stage (68) as well as a switching signal generating stage (4) for generating the switching signals from a control oscillation (at 5) whosefrequency constitutes a predeterminable, integral multiple of the frequency (1/T) of the carrier oscillation. Offsets or interference frequencies due to manufacturing tolerances can be avoided with such demodulators, while sensitivities to interference at higher harmonics of the carrier oscillations can be suppressed simultaneously.
