The invention provides a circuit arrangement for digital telecommunications via optical fibers, wherein a first line termination (OLT I) containing a cross-connector (CC I) is located in an exchange (VST). At least one optical connecting line network (ON) is connected to the optical line termination (OLT I) whereby at least one subscriber (T1n) is connected. To also enable the simple switching of broad-band services, a second optical line termination (OLT II) containing a cross-connector (CC II) for higher transmission rates is switched between the first optical line termination (OLT I) and the subscriber line network (ON), which is connected via respective interfaces to the first optical line termination (OLT I) for the transmission of narrow-band services on the one hand, and directly to a broad-band switching equipment (BV) for the transmission of broad-band services on the other.
