ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The compensation circuit system displays a series circuit connected to the alternating-current voltage system, consisting of a capacitor, an inductor and a thyristor rectifier, to which a diverter is connected by way of the thyristor rectifier and the inductor. The inductor and the diverter protect the thyristor rectifier from too abrupt a current surge, resp. overvoltage, after a misfire, whereby the protection is also effective in the event of a number of directly successive misfires.
