A circuit interrupter including a housing having a cover connected to a base, separable main contacts within the housing, and an operating mechanism within the housing and inter- connected with the contacts. A trip mechanism is disposed within the housing and includes a rotatable trip bar assembly that, when selectively rotated, generates a tripping operation. The trip mechanism includes a dual-purpose trip actuator biased upwards and positioned for vertical movement within the housing and having a top portion extending through the cover. The actuator includes a push-to-trip member and an interlock trip member. The trip bar assembly includes a multi-purpose trip member having a push-to-trip actuating region, an interlock trip actuating region, and an accessory trip actuating region. The push-to-trip member contacts the push-to-trip actuating region when the top portion is depressed, causing the trip bar assembly to rotate. The interlock trip member contacts the interlock trip actuating region when the cover is removed from the base, causing the trip bar assembly to rotate. The accessory trip actuating region is positioned to be contacted by the tripping member of the external accessory device and thereby cause rotation of the trip bar assembly.
L'invention concerne un interrupteur de circuit comprenant un logement qui possède un couvercle connecté à une base, des contacts principaux séparables à l'intérieur du logement, et un mécanisme opérationnel dans le logement et interconnecté aux contacts. Un mécanisme de déclenchement est disposé dans le logement et comporte un assemblage de barre de déclenchement rotatif qui, lorsqu'il tourne sélectivement, produit une opération de déclenchement. Ce mécanisme de déclenchement comporte un actionneur de déclenchement à double usage tourné vers le haut et placé de manière à tourner verticalement dans le logement et possédant une partie supérieure passant à travers le couvercle. L'actionneur comprend un membre de poussoir-déclencheur et un membre de blocage de déclenchement. L'assemblage de barre de déclenchement rotatif comporte un membre de déclenchement multi-usage possédant une zone de fonctionnement poussoir-déclencheur, une zone de fonctionnement de blocage de déclenchement, et une zone de de fonctionnement de déclenchement secondaire. Le membre poussoir-déclencheur entre en contact avec la zone de fonctionnement poussoir-déclencheur, lorsque la partie supérieure est abaissée, ce qui entraîne un mouvement de rotation de l'assemblage de barre de déclenchement. Le membre de blocage de déclenchement entre en contact avec la zone de de fonctionnement de blocage de déclenchement, lorsque le couvercle est retiré de sa base, faisant tourner l'assemblage de barre de déclenchement. La zone de fonctionnement de déclenchement secondaire est placée pour être en contact avec le membre de déclenchement de l'appareil secondaire externe et ainsi entraîner la rotation de l'assemblage de barre de déclenchement.
