Disclosed is a manual override employing two resistor and capacitor time delay circuits ("R/C circuit") which are in communication with a microprocessor. In the absence of regular A/C power, the first R/C circuit is adapted to provide a signal for a predetermined time T1, and the second R/C circuit is adapted to provide a signal for a predetermined time T2. Since T2 is longer in duration than T1, it is possible for an end-user to deactivate the light via a wall switch for a period of time X, which is of a duration between T1 and T2. The microprocessor, in turn, is programmed to sense that an override function is to be employed when this condition is sensed and, consequently, the PIR is disabled and the light functions in a dusk-to-dawn mode.
