ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a circuit for adjusting the bias current of a two-head type tape-recorder having an eraser head and another head usable both for recording and reproducing sound. A calibration signal generator, a higher frequency range output level adjusting circuit and a recording bias current adjusting variable resistor are provided. The calibration signal generator continually and alternately provides at its output two kinds of calibration signals of lower and higher frequencies. The higher range adjusting circuit is operatively connected with the vari- able resistor, and adjusts the output sound level, as indicated by an indicator, only of the higher frequency signal of the two calibration signals. In this manner, the bias current can be readily adjusted for the type of tape being used.
