CIRCULAR BACKPLATE Abstract of the Disclosure A die casting machine has a reservoir for molten metal, a gooseneck immersed at one end in the molten metal and the upper end of the gooseneck is provided with a nozzle adapted to be brought into engagement with a back surface of a die set. The die set is mounted on a backplate and includes a plurality of dies movably mounted on the backplate between a closed position in which the die cavity is defined and an open position in which an article cast within the cavity can be ejected. The backplate of the machine is provided with a track along which a die closure means is adjustable.
