CIRCULATING BED CELL Abstract of the Disclosure In order to control the size distribution of electroconductive particles that constitute a particulate electrode in an electrochemical cell, the particles are extracted and subjected to elutriation. The flow of elutriating fluid is such that particles larger than a given size settle against the flow of fluid while other particles are carried along by the fluid flow and then are returned to the cell after separation, if necessary, from the elutriating fluid.
