In a system for enforcing the validity of circulating pointers, one or more target pointers are generated and compared to circulating pointers. If a pointer does not circulate through the system within a prespecified time, then a pointer has been lost and an error is reported. If a circulating pointer matches a target pointer, it is suppressed by being removed from the set of circulating pointers. Another timer is then set to determine whether further circulating pointers match a target pointer. If so, then multiple pointers to the same location are present and all duplicatepointers are suppressed. After expiration of the second time, the target pointers are added to the set of circulation pointers. This process repeats with new target pointers, so that the validity of the set of the set of circulating pointers is verified.
Dans un système d'exécution de la validité de pointeurs en circulation, un ou plusieurs pointeurs de cibles sont produits et comparés aux pointeurs en circulation. Si un pointeur ne circule pas dans le système dans un délai prédéfini, le pointeur est alors perdu et une erreur est signalée. Si un pointeur en circulation correspond à un pointeur de cible, il est supprimé de l'ensemble de pointeurs en circulation. Un autre temporisateur est alors établi pour déterminer si d'autres pointeurs en circulation correspondent à un pointeur de cible. Le cas échéant, des pointeurs multiples vers le même emplacement sont présents et tous les pointeurs en double sont supprimés. Après l'expiration du deuxième temporisateur, les pointeurs de cibles sont ajoutés à l'ensemble des pointeurs en circulation.
