There is disclosed a circumference measuring device which is suitable for but not limited to measuring ring sizes and wrist sizes for jewelry. The device includes a longitudinally extending handle, a flexible measurement band, a seat positioned to form together with the band a closed circumference measuring loop, an adjustor for adjusting the size of the loop, and an indicator for indicating the circumference size of the loop. The handle includes first and second guide channels which extend longitudinally in the handle. The measurement band includes a central portion which extends outside the handle and opposed end portions which extend outwardly from the central portion. One of the end portions is received by the first guide channel for controlled telescoping movement into and out from the channel. The other end portion is received by the second guide channel for simultaneously controlled telescoping movement into and out from the second channel. The adjustor is secured to the handle and operatively engages both end portions of the measuring band.
