ABSTRACT A cladding panel assembly 10 comprising a cladding panel shell 11 having profiled longitudinal edge portions which, on the one hand, form a groove 28 and tongue 29 allowing the tongue portions 29 of one panel to be seated within the groove portion 28 of another panel and, on the other hand, form a guide comprising inner faces 30, 31 of respectively groove 28 and tongue 29 together with an inside face for slidably receiving and retaining a cladding panel insulation sheet 12. In a particular form the profile of the face of the insulation sheet 12 which abuts the inside face of the panel shell 11 closely follows the profile of the panel shell 11 thereby providing a good deal of mechanical support for the shell 11. The above features provide a convenient method of supplying and installing insulated vinyl cladding panels.
