ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A gripping element on a pull-knob pop-up drain for lavabos, bidets or other such sanitary equipment has an adjustable coupling produced by the gripping element between a stopper lever and a pull rod. The gripping element consists of a gripping spring and a supporting piece which together form a unit. The gripping spring is equipped with limbs and these in turn have receiving holes for the pull rod. The supporting piece is provided with an opening to receive the one end of the stopper lever and also with bridges for holding the limbs of the gripping spring.
