A clamping apparatus for clamping a post and the like to a structurally supportive object comprises a main body, and has an indent in the main body for receiving a portion of the structurally supportive object therein. A first threaded fastener is for selectively securing the clamping apparatus to the structurally supportive object received within the indent in the main body. A clamping element is separate from the main body and is removably mountable on the main body for clamping a post thereto. A second first threaded fastener is for selectively securing the clamping element in adjustable relation to the main body, such that the post is clamped to the clamping apparatus.
