A novel clamping band is provided herein. It includes a metallic band section having a first end, which is formed in a Y-shaped fork having a pair of fork pieces. A pair of concave sections is formed in each side edge margin of the band. The concave sections are capable, respectively of accommodating the fork pieces of the Y-shaped fork when the band is formed into a loop with the first end being overlapped by the band, and where the concave sections face inwardly. A clamping ear having a gate shape is disposed at a position on the band which overlaps the first end when the band is formed into a loop. The clamping ear is compressible in the circumferential direction of the loop to permit reducing a diameter of the loop. An engaging piece is provided in the vicinity of the Y-shaped fork of the band section. A first engage hole is capable of engaging with the engaging piece, the first engage hole being provided in the vicinity of the other end of the band section. In this manner, the band section can be formed into the loop when the first engage hole is engaged with the engaging piece.
