A B S T R A C T A press-on fastener for use in articles such as closing flaps of brief cases or the like, has a stem element of a generally circular configuration, and a socket element of the type of a generally circular opening. An annular spring is contained in the stem to provide resilient, radially outwardly protruding projections for fr?ctional engagement with the socket. The overall assembly of the fastener elements is designed such that all of its components can be made of plastics, e.g. by injection molding, to reduce manufacturing costs.
