A B S T R A C T A clamping spring collar, constituted by a rolled-up metal strip (1) having end portions (1a, 1b) each of which is of a width substantially equal to half the width of the strip, said end portions being disposed side by side and being provided with respective tabs (2-3) that are directed radially outwardly from the collar, which tabs form abutments for engaging a pliers-like tool, the strip having a cross-section that constitutes a flattened V-shape such that the central region of the inside surface of the collar has a diameter that is smaller than that of its lateral regions, the collar being characterized in that the angle formed between the two branches of the V-shape lies in the range 120° to 165°, and in that the ratio between the thickness (e) of the strip and the length (L) of each of its branches itself lies in the range 0.2 to 0.5.
