ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A fastener, particularly for a sport boot, having first fastening member on one side of the boot closure and a second fastening member on the other side. The first fastening member includes a base plate fastened to the boot, and a lever hingedly connected to the base plate. The lever has hook on its side facing the base plate to receive the second fastening member. Latch positions the lever adjacent the base plate to close the fastener when the second fastening member is in the hook. A protection is provided on the fastener for retain- ing the second fastening member in the hook even if the lever is accidently unlatched. The protection is a retaining plate interposed between the lever at its end having a manipulating tab, and the base plate. When the manipulating tab is pulled inadvertently, the retaining plate stay latched to the lever, preventing the second fastening member from leaving the hook.
